THE GERMAN AI ECOSYSTEM ORGANISES THE "GERMAN AI MONTH mAI" IN 2023 FOR THE FIRST TIME TO STRENGTHEN "AI MADE IN GERMANY".
- The German AI Month mAI strengthens the networking and cooperation of the German AI industry with the business community under the vision of "AI made in Germany".
- The initiators are the appliedAI Initiative GmbH, Rise of AI, the KI Park e. V., Merantix AG and the Bundesverband KI e. V.
- Interested AI companies, AI hubs and initiatives are invited to participate with their own events to increase the visibility of AI in the totality of its application possibilities.
Berlin, 09 January 2023 - The first "German AI Month mAI" will take place from 1 to 31 May 2023. The main players in the German AI ecosystem have joined forces across the country to draw attention to the vision of "AI made in Germany".
The mission of the German AI Month is to strengthen the domestic AI ecosystem, to network and to open up at the same time. Together, the vision of "AI made in Germany" will be promoted and confidence in Germany as an AI location of the future will be built. Current challenges such as the EU AI Act, the shortage of skilled workers and AI security will also be addressed. The overarching goal of the initiative is to provide easy access to information and AI applications for all interested parties. It also aims to establish sustainable contacts in the AI industry.
"Germany has a rapidly growing AI landscape with numerous start-ups, globally recognised research as well as numerous initiatives driving the topic forward. However, the German AI community lacks clout as it is still highly fragmented."
says Fabian Westerheide, Managing Director of Rise of AI.
"If we want to use the immense potential of the know-how and technologies available here, we must pool our resources and approach the development of AI in Germany together and in a coordinated manner. The AI Month mAIwill provide an important impulse for this."
"The German AI Month mAI sees itself as a platform to bring together existing initiatives, associations and companies. We want to promote mutual trust and leave behind the idea of competition"
says Dr Christian Temath, Managing Director of KI.NRW.
"I am convinced that Germany can play the same pioneering role in the field of AI as it does in the traditional industrial sector. If we work together as a team on this, 'AI made in Germany' can become a globally recognised seal of quality."
In summary, AI will be an important driver for digital transformation and progress in various industries.
The aim of the AI Made in Germany initiative is to educate the public about the many possibilities and benefits of AI and to ensure that AI is developed and used in Germany in a sustainable and responsible way.
The initiative aims to help Germany become a major player in the field of AI and maximise the positive impact of AI on the economy, society and the environment.
